don't mind my ranting i am furious at 1 store in particular .... put it this way the store i am ranting about sells games for all kinds of systems you know all the usual ones from each era and games too almost always overpriced , and their trade in policy is really stupid like some items they offer 1 dollar trade value on and sell for 20 dollars >,< others they trade 5 dollars and sell anywhere between 15-40 dollars etc i wanted a few games from there recently ... i was about to pay ! and the guy calls me up saying the ONLINE prices have risen since that listed prices and that i am going to need another 95 dollars to complete my order of 10 ps1 boxed complete games so i said forget it you shouldnt sell any items if you are false advertising and hang up the phone and deleted my order

Walked into a game store in the Sydney CBD, saw a USED (in bad condition) and a mint copy of FF7 - both were priced at over $250. I had to ask if they were serious about the price and the staff looked at me and were like "Well, yeah.", I had to resist laughing my ass off as my Father was tempted to jokingly ask them if he'd get that much for bringing in used copies of the game. XD

Pity there's no Gametraders or anything I'm aware of nearby (unless I'm completely unaware of some in/around Sydney?) because it sucks when online ones try to pull a shifty on you like that. If you put an order through next time and they charge you more than the listed price, you could always take it to the fair trade commission if you think others will get scammed like that.

What?! Hahaha, oh man. So many rip-offs around the area.

Anyway, I hope you can find those games you were after for a good price. I've had to take to eBay to try and get decent prices on stuff because I don't know any decent old game stores around Sydney (not going out of the city I mean into the outer suburbs as I haven't got a car) and the ones around the CBD that I know of are an absolute bloody joke.

Funnily enough. Some secondhand store do give you cheap games as they have no idea what they are wort. I ended up getting a like new copy of Tales of Symphonia on the Gamecube for 25 bucks and someone left a memory card 59 in the case SCORE! Damn Good Game Ebayed it and realised what an awesome deal I got!

Gametraders are stupid with their Nintendo products and Dreamcast stuff... A yellowed bug shat on Dreamcast no box for $200 I'm dead fucking serious... My friend was with me and I'm like "ARE THEY SERIOUS?!" really loud so the staff would hear me... No idea if it could read games or not though.
Another time they had a Pikachu Nintendo 64 for $200 without a box, also waayyyy over priced. They seem to have a flood of UK copies of Nintendo 64 games and selling them at stupid prices like Superman 64 for $50 -_-

    Opposite time:
Buddy of mine runs a used game store. I bring in a handful of duplicate games I have for trade in, I walk out with 2 Xbox Lightguns, Dracula X on SNES and a few other things.

He also sold me an NES for 20 bucks the other day.

Just remember retail space isn't free. And just like car dealing, it's cheaper to buy from an individual than a dealer. Some game shops really are awful. We used to have some good ones around here a long time ago. Internet sales really ruined the used gaming market. You would think with a bigger region to sell the prices would actually go down, not up. But the internet induces stupidity. Like believing that games like Final Fantasy 7 are rare. It's always really strange how people think that extremely popular and commercially successful games are "rare". An example of a rare game is something like Demon's Crest for SNES. I'm pretty sure it was produced in about the minimum run of units and I recall reading alot of people returned the game after buying it. But you don't see it going for insane amounts.

It's all in dumb people's heads.

Random guy at my friends game store: I still have the original Final Fantasy for NES. It's like really rare. I wonder how much it goes for
Me: Honestly, about 20 bucks if it's complete in box.
    Him: :/
