    yes , its the japanese version.

    are you sure it was a proto ? as far as i know you can patch the 5000/7000 and 5100/7100 to english. but don`t ask me how ^^

    maybe it was a patched but it was stated as the only psx avaiable in english (at least to us normal john does)

    hmm patching the firmware to english that would be interesting but i never checked at that
