So i got my dvt4 in today, after swapping the pal psu with an ntsc one i boot it up it works, etc. So i go to run neighborhood and every time it just says it cant find the xbox, is it because its on vista?
It installed on Vista? And actually works? That's a miracle in itself. Make sure you're connected to the network, and entering either the name or the IP of the system. If it doesn't go by the name, use the IP located in the bottom-center.
Ive literally tried everything i can think of ip the name changing the name erasing the cache its probably the fact that its vista... uggg now to find an xp disc :noooo:
Why not install Windows 7 and try Virtual XP (which runs a program as if you were running XP), or install it on a virtual machine?
Neighborhood isnt an exe file so you cant "run in compatibility for" im just going to use the xp computer and if that doesn't work ill post back here
@ tyler which ip do you used for connection? The one in Game configuration or the one in Debug confguration ? If debug then it is the right one.
The same thing i used for my 360 kits so im sure its not that and schwater I used the one on the dashboard, not sure with one that is
i know it may seem a silly question, but you are using the original xbox NN and not the 360 verion right?
Try giving the DVT4 a name, then see whether you can pin-point the unit via that name instead of entering an IP address. If that fails, then if you feel you've not made a silly networking mistake (i.e. wrong IP or whatever) then I'd go the XP route as frankly Xbox 1 material was never designed to run on Vista and it might be the route of the problem. Others will more than likely confirm, but I sold all my material off before getting to the point where Vista was an issue.
XN runs fine on vista.... Since it doesnt run on Windows 7, I often find my self using a Vista virtual machine to be able to use it.
Tried again today, manually changed the ip's on the xdk, and then connected to the name and it worked after failing 3 times, i dont know how or why it somehow decided to work after 3 tries but it did.
