Hi all, I have some PSP betas in DVD format and I'd like to know if is there a way to run them in a regular PSP. Each DVD has some .IMG files and one .DAT file. Thanks in advance, Jose.
If you open the dvd on a mac (and probally also possible on a pc) you can open the bin files. The bin file internals are exact the same as the data of an ripped umd. ... So I think it must be possible, however I never continued my quest for it
Some will run. Some will not. Without knowing the details, it's a crapshoot. The only sure way is a debug or test station. Good luck. -hl718
Hello, I have a debug unit to test these games, PM me for more info I believe I could also convert them to run on a retail PSP with some modifications Just drop me a PM if you'd like , thanks
Cool, I'd like to see how one of these units look like! ...and welcome to the boards, your nick looks quite familiar!
Thanks a lot to all of you who have helped me. It seems to be that one of the IMG files is an ISO archive that I can open with UMDGEN. I'm now searching for a comercial PSP. I'll try to downgrade it to 1.0 firmware and see if the Beta simply runs on it.
Since you found a way to convert them in ISO files that are validated by UMDGEN, any psp that runs iso files will run them : a 1.0 won't read iso, only very early EBOOTs. Use Devhook or one of Dark Alex's modified firmware to run them, that's all.
