When you normally crossed the finish you would handbrake slide and stop. One gamer was so motivated, he made an mod of the game so he could drive past the forced stop and see what was around the corner. Ever wonder what was in an off limits area? This guy wanted to know so hard he became a programmer!
I had this same desire when playing Re-Volt. However the ingame editor had a free flying camera. Of course, just like this, nothing there.
I remember when he originally started this project and it was built in XNA. Would love to see this ported to other systems since he has it built in c#.
Loved the original Need For Speed too. I would play on the Saturn with my main objective to cause a massive crash then replay it. I was so sad to find that the Japanese version wouldn't let you crash and only featured Nissan cars. I guess Nissan didn't want you thinking their cars could crash
My japanese Nissan version came in a strange PS1 styled box without the front inlay. Only the manual was included. First I thought it was only missing in my copy of the game, until I noticed that every copy of the game doesn't have a front inlay.
