Apologies if posted already, couldn't find it via search.

There's a new viral advertising/hype website (supposedly) for Bioshock 2:

    http://www.somethinginthesea.com/

Seems to suggest splicers are kidnapping girls to make Little Sisters...perhaps this one will be set on land? Suggests it's a true sequel too, rather than a prequel.
Kinda reminds me of the original storyline before they dreamt up all the Rapture stuff.

That's a pretty creepy concept. However, you don't seem to be able to do a whole lot with the website, other than view a few articles/notes/photos. Not very exciting.

I wonder if everyone will go insane over the sequal and then not care about it at all a few months later like the original?

Nah, they'll probably just not care from the start. It wasn't a bad game, but it wasn't superb. The sequel will just be more of the same, as is often the case, particularly with FPS games.

Remember also that Bioshock is (IIRC) the spiritual follow on to the classic game System Shock.

If you have any desire to do so then do it now...I can garauntee that game will not age well. This isn't even my usual saying that the game wasn't super amazing, even if I loved it to death I still wouldn't think it would hold up 5 years down the road or something.

The stuff I've seen so far about this second one actually has me sort of interested...

Well, how many times have you gone back and played that game at all? I don't know anybody that has, at least the people who worshipped it for the short while. It just really seems to me that it's a "good when it was out" type of game.

Wrong person to ask; I generally don't replay many games period.

Well, yeah, but you sort of get what I mean. A bad example of what I mean that sprang to mind is something like Splinter Cell, which a lot of people dug when it was out, but now it's really not something you would view as badass. I don't mean this in a OLD GAMES BLAH way, I love old games, I just don't see it as aging as well as some do. A lot of critically acclaimed games do that, but thats what I get for not really keeping up with new releases.

I'm also the wrong person to ask as I'm a huge fan of the game lol. I've completed it 5 times on every difficulty, but that's nothing compared to some others I know who have ranked up over 12 play throughs :eek:h:.

Seriously? Well, thats cool. The people I know who absolutely adore that game never touch it, I just thought that was odd. I think I played through it about twice. I'm not saying it's a bad game, it just annoyed me how people thought it was the most amazing thing ever. It uses the same damn character models for bosses and enemies and crap like that! Awesome storyline though, and the gameplay reminded me of Condemned. I think I liked those better though. 2 actually sort of has me interested though.
