http://www.snopes.com/photos/commercials/vwpolo.asp I betcha VW didn't even pursue legal action against the people who made the video which I believe VW made. Still I find it funny and well deserved.
option 1 this is a ad in the normal vw agenda like the other ones (in germany i remember 2, one where cops hide behind a polo and another one where a polo trys to stop a huge construction vehicle) but vw decidet that the movie was too offensive and so it was not released the 2nd thinking is that some guys in the uk created it (theres a scene which creates such kind of ads) some people might remember the ford ka ad with the cat.... :smt043 ill go for option one the not aproved offical vw ad cause the ad shows high quality mostly in the eqiupment and lighting, would cost thousends of $ to do such thing (a bit much for amateurs and their hobby)
The ad is a parody. VW is highly offended, even thinking of suing the makers of this piece of hilarity.
The ad is of very high quality, audio/visual-wise. If it's fake I'd be very impressed, it would take a lot of very expensive kit to pull that off.
VW isn't stupid, they make quality cars :smt023 Nice ad, I don't think its official. That is a too intense topic to joke around on TV
Quite right, Hawanja. If you all read the whole article instead of just watching the clip, then you wouldn't need to speculate. ;-) To be honest, OK so it was only supposed to be an internal thing, but it was in poor taste. Some things you steer clear of, especially at certain times. Yeah, I know there are always risky comedy programmes that will go too far, but even they would usually steer clear of such a topic. A friend of mine had a relative die in a suicide bombing... it affects lots of people, not just those there but their relatives etc. Personally, if I were VW I would take action too. So what if it was only supposed to be a joke? So what if it wasn't supposed to be publically available? They made a film in poor taste and attached a company's name and logo to it, their trademark. They used a trademark without consent, and suggested that the company had something to do with it. It DID get out and people are questioning whether the company was responsible - they have harmed the good name of the company. Even just using that as a trade showreel, it isn't on really. I certainly wouldn't be proud to show people that as an example of my work.
