Most of you might recognize this track from the game Xenogears, but what some of you might not know is that the vocals were done by a woman called Joanne Hogg who actually comes from a Celtic rock band called Iona. I came a cross this band a few years ago and they quickly became my favourite band of all time, which eventually led me to this song from Xenogears, which was quite surprising to me that she was actually hired to do vocals for a JRPG. Their music is very soothing, spiritual and uplifting, and I think most people would enjoy it and find a personal connection with their music. Joanne has a wonderful voice, both recorded and live, and I'd recommend everyone to check them out, especially if you like this song. Anyone else ever listened to their music? For those who haven't, here's some of their better albums I've listened to: Beyond These Shores https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F37LAiFsdo0&list=PLbgGyKgEFQ0gCB8R3TeOCePwxKlVVO9ZO The Book of Kells https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wilftddz7Hk&list=PLbgGyKgEFQ0jfVvATSYuuVFdpMIGQDkQU Journey Into the Morn https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WJydOm05BlE&list=PLbgGyKgEFQ0hIErSKbbuZYuKAfumsq4G2 Another Realm https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TZa92eHr1Zo&list=PLIUlEZi6QudP24peO-wOKa2IABRyfhRh6 ----- Enjoy!
Glad to hear it! How I found the band is actually quite a funny story. Burger King and many other retail chains in the UK use an internet based music player called an AHD1 by Imagesound that when the internet cuts out, the hardware defaults to a track called Matthew the Man from the album The Book of Kells. It's sheer copyright infringement and the hardware company never got Iona's permission to use the track on the AHD1, but I guess it's thanks to them that I found this band and was able to support them, I and many others. I hope people enjoy their music, I certainly do.
