Hey, I got the one with the blue lines from eBay the other day and my google search lead to various sites, enlisting all labels...but photos are missing everywhere. I found out the Canada Sold the European cartridge for example...but nowhere I was able to find this "red lines + black logo" VS. "blue lines + blue logo" thing. Also I find more "red lines" via google then "blue lines". Also the NFR logo varies in size or is missaligend on the "Blue lines" one. (See red circles) As well as on the cartridge itself, the NFR logo covers more of sonics hand on the "Blue lines" one. Does anyone know why and where these released ? (the "blue lines") ?
In regards to the lines I'd put that down as printing errors. Nothing out of the ordinary there. You can go to your local market and find errors like this on anything. The placement of NOT FOR RESALE may be different however.
Notice the 670-1469-01 code on one of the cart labels. I found this post: 670-1469 is the usa sonic 1 cart label 670-1470 is the usa sonic 1 box insert 670-1469-01 is usa sonic 1 new cart label 670-1470-01 is usa sonic 1 new box insert the differences in the newer label/box are an updated genesis logo, updated player logo, different colorings, other things...... Interesting stuff. I just actually found out about the whole Canada got the European box/art with genesis logo on them until I picked up a copy recently and was wondering why it did not look right. All boxed copies that I've come across up here have been the Canadian version.
