Sonic 3D Blast Genesis (Saturn) Soundtrack patch for Saturn

This download contains (almost) everything you need to replace the music in the Saturn version of Sonic 3D Blast with the Genesis music (contains all the legal stuff AKA no ISO/ROM included).

Download the two zip files and put the contents of both folders (the folders in the zip files) into one folder (with nothing else in it). Then burn an ISO (must be ISO) of your Sonic 3D Blast game and put it into the folder with the files from the download. Then burn the game with the CUE file and it should work (made with a NTSC-U disk and unsure if other regions will work).

The WAV files in the downloads are from Sonic 3D Blast (Genesis) and belong to SEGA (all rights reserved)

    PART 1: http://www.mediafire.com/download/6w6s0cd5dinjpmd/Sonic_3D_Blast_Genesis_(Saturn)_Part_1.zip
    PART 2: http://www.mediafire.com/download/yb6b5325c27nbot/Sonic_3D_Blast_Genesis_(Saturn)_Part_2.zip

An entertaining look at this patch, complete with text based commentary. Yes text, just like this text your reading now. EXCITEMENT! The video was filmed from my personal Model 1 SEGA Saturn. (Warning: video contains consistent rant about load times in this game)

Tell me if this does/doesn't work since I am not 100% sure providing your own ISO (that you made with your official disk) will work and I only own one copy of the game.
I hope I have greatly improved Sonic 3D Blast for you by combining the best music with the best version (at least that is how I see it).

Learn how to change music in a different Saturn game

why would you put the Genesis music on the Saturn version? I mean, the genesis soundtrack was kinda low (in my opinion)...
    But that's cool!

    Because of preference?

And Sonic 3D Blast on Genesis had some of the best Sonic music ever, IMHO. Volcano Valley, Rusty Ruin, The Final Fight, etc, FTW.

I don't find the Saturn soundtrack memorable. Whenever I think of Sonic 3D Blast, the Green Grove music from the Genesis pops into my head. The only song I tend to like slightly better in the Saturn Version is the Special Stage track (although, this patch will replace that for consistency). I find that everything else is more enjoyable in the Saturn Version.
That is why I created a way to change Saturn game soundtracks.

EDIT: Everything is better except the load times. The Saturn is MUCH longer, but it is a CD game VS. a cartridge.

Good point. I forgot about that since I usually don't play the game far enough to hear it (this game really needed a save system). The Genesis final boss music is too upbeat and doesn't sound like boss music, so the Saturn easily beats the Genesis.

Interesting project. I've never played the Saturn version, so I never would've thought to do this. I do remember the music being a high point for the Genesis game, so I can see why you'd want to do this.

Richard Jacques won't be happy. I love the Diamond Dust MegaDrive soundtrack, though.

Well, to his credit, I like the music in Sonic R. Sonic 3D Blast just wasn't his greatest day.

He had less than a month to do the total soundtrack as SEGA Europe wanted to have a Saturn Sonic game launched before Christmas '96.

There not bad songs at all. There are 24 difrent tracks on this disk and with the limited time he was given, I would say he did a fine job. The Genesis version has music much better suited for this game (excluding the Special Stage and Final Boss).

I think if SEGA were to port the game to the 3DS and add 3D support, the game would play much better. The 3D would give you depth perception and it would probably be much easier to judge distance to platform. Also the analog stick would help out too.
They could also add an option to have the homing attack always on (minus shield/protection).

I just fixed Sonic 3D Blast. Get to work SEGA.

I liked Sonic 3D, the game I didn't like was Spinball.

What? Generic? Do generic things contain colorful squares, platforms, spike balls and a couple of recycled enemies reused over the course of the entire game? Wait...

Even though It is generic, I still find it enjoyable. Maybe because I like Sonic and 90's style 3d transitional games. You have to at least like this game if only to take revenge on the caterkillers from Sonic 1 (if you spindash in one place, they kill themselves). I still think it deserves it's place in the land pf Sonic spinoffs.
