I was browsing along the excellent site (which I'm sure you know of) Secret of Sonic team when I discovered this pirate gem: http://sost.emulationzone.org/sonic_adventure_8/whatis/index.htm Obviously a hack of some sort, but very interesting: It actually was released with the rumble cart, though nothing can be found if it indeed used the rumble feature more than as a gimmick. Anyone heard of more copies known?
That is some of the best designed and clean-produced pirate packaging ever. The game's color palette reminds me of old dos CGA games, hehe
Why is it called Sonic Adventure 8 when there were never Sonic Adventures 3-7? Well, unless maybe they're counting all the crappy pseudo-sequels. Or maybe the 8 stands for "8-bit."
Could be several reasons, one cold be 8-bit, but they could have implemented 8 modes in the game, and they could also have counted with the Sega to continue to make SA 3, 4, 5, etc.
I've played some of these if you look hard enough you can find some in rom form. They're absolutely horrible in in everyway, lord knows why someone took the time to make them.
