What's it worth? And is it actually rare or just rarer than the standard normal version?

Disc only is common. Complete copies are rare. I've seen them go for between $100-$200 in eBay auctions

This is because of how it was released. And even then I wouldn't say disc only is "common," just that people are more likely to trade a disc only version because they don't realize what they have.

Complete copies were produced for Hollywood Video, a US rental chain that had exclusive rights to rent the Dreamcast two months before its official release in the US. All these copies were rental only and had Hollywood Video security stickers attached to them.

Later, disc only versions were distributed to various retail stores in the US as Kiosk demos. These versions used the same disc, but did not come with cases. They simply shipped in a sleeve.

The game itself is basically the original Japanese release, without the bug fixes that made it into the official US release. It is more important for what it was and how it was released than the code on the disc (essentially just a localization beta).

Some complete copies did make it out of SEGA in various ways (promotions, employees, etc.) so it is possible to find a complete copy without the rental stickers or an abused instruction manual, but these are naturally pricier because they are rare and desired.

    Hope this helps.

Wouldn't mind one of these either. Preferably complete but I'm not picky.

I personally saw this version running at a Target in my hometown. An employee was nice enough to humor me and let me see the disc too.
