First of all, I don't have a video of this and I'll probably won't make one soon, as it requires a light speed dash and the Golden Chao still in the store. My game save already has the Chao taken out and if I start a new game, I'll have to play all the way to the moment when you acquire the light speed dash. Some years ago I posted a small tutorial on my now dead website. The files are still there so let me explain how it works, you can check out the screenshots and either try it by yourself or wait for me to make a video, which I will eventually do. Here it goes: First you need to find the Golden Chao Egg. It's on display in one of the stores at Station Square and it's easy enough to spot. Found it? Ok, let's move on. Enter the store and pick up the egg. You'll notice that it was pushing down a button, which when released, closes the store. You have the egg, but you can't leave, and that's no good. Position yourself in front of the door. As close as you can. Then drop the egg. When Sonic puts it down, it appears on the other side of the door. It's best to push it through as far as you can. This will get tricky in moment, and if you don't put the egg down just right, you might not be able to pick it up. I've got a picture of the egg on the outside, but the link to the big one was broken. Thumbnail will have to do: Getting the egg on the outside is easy. Stand close enough and you'll do it. The hard part is to break out of the store. It's extremly important you do it fast, since there's not that much time after you drop the egg. The game knows it and it's counting down untill the egg automatically reappears in its original place. This is where it gets pretty random. Position yourself in front of the window and use the light speed dash. You'll just have to try it as many times as it takes. Smash into the window. Pay special attention to window corners. Try to dash your way through and you'll eventually make it. Remember. The clock is ticking. So if you won't make it in a few tries, go pick up the egg, put it back down again and go back to dashing. If you take too much time and you eventually do dash through the window, the egg might dissapear before you manage to run up to it and take it. The dash will send you flying to the other side of the street. Anyways, this might sound a bit complicated and chaotic, but that's the way it works. Keep smashing into that window. Try every inch of it and don't give up. It does work and you will get your egg as a reward. I reproduced this many times in European version of the game in both 50 and 60Hz. And if it can be done in the European version, I'm pretty sure it can be done in all versions. I have no idea how to get that egg any other way and I haven't read any internet faqs either, so maybe there's a simpler way to do it. This is the way I've done it and here's my Golden Chao: I'll post the video when I have some extra time on my hands. Oh, and one more thing. After you take the egg, exit the location and enter it again, Golden Egg will be replaced by a stone one. So I guess the game knows you took it.
Hehe. You can get the golden egg by replacing it with another one. Near the building of the first boss battle (on the grass) there's another egg. Simpy switch them. I like your way though
D'oh! Forget the whole thing then ... *slams head on the keyboard* *looks up* You do? really? hehehe. Ah man, this isn't how I pictured the introducing of my original way to steal a Chao egg. Should have read the faq's ... Or USED MY BRAIN!
Well ok. How about THIS one? I'm pretty sure noone has ever done this, as it is completly useless. But still fun. How would you like to see into Sonic's head? You can, and it's fairly easy too. This can only be done after you can access the ruins. The ones with mayan pyramid. Find Big The Cat's place. It's a wooden construction. I don't think you can call it anything ealse than that. Anyways, Big's chill out spot is built on a few tree stumps. One of which has no collision programmed into it, so you can "enter" it like so: While inside the tree stump, change the camera around and you will find it extremly easy to place it inside of Sonic's head. Ever wondered what's going on behind his pretty eyes? Not much! His head is filled with nothing but air! I'm aware that camera in Sonic Adventures sucks arse, so there's probably plenty of spaces you can go to if you want to see the air filling Sonic's head. That's how I first did it though and here you have it. Haha. I'll just wait for someone to post something like: You can just go in the corner in the first two seconds of the game and do it there by pressing left.
You could, but it's all about the in game glitches. Besides, I thought about it and it's not totally useless. This glitch is a Chao Egg generator. Every time you take one egg, another one appears. Not that there's a shortage of Chao's. But still, you can produce as many as you like. Or as many as your patience will let you.
