Just looking through some of those great pics on here from e3 and came accross this ps2 title. I am really hoping that when they have the "plus" tag on the end they are reffering to new and improved with added sonic cd rather than same game with "xtra 3d cool looking world added in for xtra sales" Anyone have any more details on it?......... Please!! :smt040
I didnt have any 'til Wombat's topic, he posted a link to his pics and I found this: That seems like a list of playable games, well as it already includes all the MD's "real" Sonic games and there's three ????'s left, I'm hoping that those stand for Sonic CD (heard a few rumors pertaining to this), Knuckles Chaotix and who knows what more! :smt033 Hey, it's only dumb speculation on my behalf but it's better that nothing, right (well actually I'm doubting that myself, but I'm drunk so sue me) :smt040
Funny that there is probally not an other site (or that we know of) that has covered the 'Sonic MegaCollection +'. I had an quick chat with someone of Sega about it and he could (since he just didn't know, and it was nowere listed) about the content of this game. You could only play at the E3 version: Sonic 1 Sonic 2 Sonic 3 Sonic & Knuckles but if you waited before playing you could also see Sonic 3D... so that only leaves us with 3 '??????' left. Oh no Robotniks mean bean machine is also in there... so there are 2 '?????' left. probally: Sonic CD Sonic Spinball then all the Megadrive title's would be on there. Now if they only added the Saturn Sonic 3D and Racing.. then it would be '+' worthy
If it has at least Sonic CD it's worth the "+" IMO. That game has one of the best soundtrack I've ever listened to.
I almost forgot that game... that one is also needed to be '+' worthy.... Now I think of it to make it an real MEGA COLLECTION... it also should contents all the mastersystem versions.
it will propably just be the same as the gamecube version with maybe sonic Cd added if they can get the megacd descently emulated. I wouldn't count on knucles chaotix or any of the saturn titles :Hangman:
Ah, time for more pointless technical nitpicking! In Sonic Jam and also the GC collection the games are not (entirely) emulated, SJ doesnt emulate the sound for instance but contains the sound files separately on disc, and lets not forget the utterly delectable Game.com port :toimonster: I havent played the GC version that much but from the looks of it the games arent emulated, all the MD dithering was gone if I recall correctly.
Not to be anti-Sega or anything, but am I the only person that thinks Sega shouldn't bother with this? We've already got the GC version.
On the contrary, as many gamers as possible (except the Xbox ones :smt019 ) should experience the fun of the Sonic games, imho. Plus, I dont even have GC :smt043
That's fair enough, but seeing as how I think everyone should own a Saturn, I'm not sympathetic to those that can't spit out $20 for a Saturn and Sonic Jam.
$20 for a saturn and sonic jam , damn a loose saturn sets you back arround 50 euro's here in holland and then another 30-50 euro's for a copy of sonic jam :Hangman:
Got my copy on ebay.co.uk for around 7 quid shipped, with box but without manual. Later I found out that there's something wrong with the disc, everything works but a part of the game catalog ('crashes' back to CD shell when I scroll further than the Pico games :smt009 )
maybe when i find one reaaaaaaly cheap since i only want a saturn for sonic r , sonic jam and sonic 3D flikkies island
Say it ain't so! There's loads more worthwile games for Saturn, in fact, imho Sonic R and Sonic 3D aint that good in comparison with the grillion shooters, beat'em-ups and lets not forget Sega's other great games like Nights, Panzer Dragoon, and even Three Dirty Dwarves (really like that one) :smt043
Ah but you forget that i collect sonic games, and i've never had much with the saturn to be honest same for the playstation 1 the gritty (in my oppinion okay maybe the word big polygons is better here) grafics etc from the 32-bit era don't aggree with me i had a n64 :smt040
You know what would really DESERVES the "+"??? The isometric, 3-player simultaneous Sonic arcade game that was never released (or at least I never seen it in American arcade). Or the Model 2 fighting game, Sonic the Fighter (aka Sonic Championship). :smt118 By the way, does anyone know if there are completed/beta copies of Sonic Championship for the Saturn in existence? It was announced for Saturn by Sega of Japan, but after numerous delays, it just disappeared. However, you can take a glimpse of what it could be in Fighters MegaMix, which has 2 Sonic characters and a stage with Sonic theme background.
Sorry i don't mean to badmouth the saturn it's a great console with great games , but just not my cup of tea, apologies if i have offended you. rayer:
