Indeed, time to drag the ZX out from the cupboard/attic/garage, blow off the dust and scrape off the mould, 'cos Sonic is comin to the Spectrum. http://www.worldofspectrum.org/anestis/soniczx.htm
This project is quite old, and the autor abandoned it some time ago. YOu can find there some of the designs used for the game, but nothing more. Nevertheless, in Russia there is still groups programming games and demos for spectrum, like fire&ice: http://www.n-discovery.narod.ru/games.htm You can also find a port of msx castlevania for zx machines made by a Spanish guy: http://www.redeya.com/bytemaniacos/castlevania.html In last webpage you can find a basic game based on cotton success character which I programmed for a small competition. I think it's not very bad, as I only used basic http://www.redeya.com/bytemaniacos/concurso2003/index.html
I always find it enjoyable to see that theres still some oldschool homebrewing going on in todays OpenGL ghz-infested world :-D Keep up the good work :smt023
heh i made a graphic for a ZX Spectrum Game last year. Never heard from those guys again though, but they are still around maybe i should contact them
Hey, Kami! - I got at least one Demo for the SNES in which you were involved! "Kami 3 - Island" ? These Spectrum games look great! I am working on several homebrew / freeware / PD compilations for SEGA Dreamcast emulators of a few old school systems, so I could implement these games to the spectrum compilation, there's an awesome new emu for DC out! I am working on SMS, Genesis/MegaDrive, SNES, GBC, NES and I'll start soon with Sectrum, C64, Atari2600, MSX Gonna be a lot of work, as I'd like to include commercials ( = videos) and maybe mp3s of some good game tunes too. @zyloj: This Cotton game looks fantastic! In BASIC??? rayer: Unbelievable... I really love Cotton! I recently brought the DC game and it's nice (paid a lot of money for it though :smt022 ) Some of your other games look great too. I've bookmarked your page... Chris
