After being scorched so many times, I can't even muster any artificial enthusiasm for the new "Sonic Team" project (which is probably going to incorporate horrible voices, unnecessary characters and rail grinding if Takashi Iizuka has any say on the matter), but it's amazing to see Stealth and The Taxman join forces to produce the kind of retro-styled game Sega really could have put out as a proper Sonic 4 on the 32X or Saturn... Hopefully we'll finally get their prototyped remaster of Sonic 3 & Knuckles once Mania is out of the way!
Sonic Retro veterans really are saving Sonic, this looks good. @Anthaemia. - Don't forget, a convoluted story that goes from Sonic wiggin' out on the beach to Robotnik plotting to use Sonic's new friend as a gateway to bending the space-time continuum (with the power of "Giga" Emeralds) to summon a transcendent animal for the sake of attaining some God-like supremacy over the cosmos.
This is such great news, really looking forward to this one. Seeing who's behind this title, I have no doubt it's going to ROCK!
So excited! Now I 'm going to have to buy a modern console! It's pretty sad, though, that Sega needs a fan to tell them how to make a proper 2d Sonic game.
I hope they will consider "Sonic Mania" on the NX, I'd love to be able to play this title on-the-go. Latets rumors about the NX is that it is based on NVidia Tegra, good enough for a 2D game and certainly for "Sonic 2017".
Wow that looks great, just done some research and I see it's not coming to the UK!!!! Come on Sega you have messed us around with rubbish Sonic crap for years and now you won't give us the good when it looks like you are gonna get it right!
I know what you mean, but technically (via ports) I guess the saturn got virtually every sonic game released on the genesis between Sonic 3D and Sonic Jam, except Sonic Spinball and Mean Bean Machine, which I think no one regards as the classic sonic games of the time.
