Got my anticipated GamesTM in the post this morning and an article caught my eye. Sony is taking out an 80 billion Yen loan and the Japanese tax authorities are wanting 28 billion Yen for unpaid taxes. Looks like rough times for Sony especially if they are proposing a £150 deposit on the PS3.

wouldn't surprise me in the least. It's not only their console that is taking a beating. Their TVs aren't the most popular and as for their MP3 players......!

I'm not joking; Mostly Everything i have labeled sony on it in my house had to be repaired at least once, half of them got repaired twice and/or got destroyed in parts and i bought another one.

And i thought years ago that sony "was the best compagny". Now i try to only buy sony's stuff if there's no other product from another compagny that can do the same for the same price range (playstation 2 is an exemple) because i fear everything i buy from sony will be broken for no reason 8 months later.

In the west maybe but not in Japan. Here Sharp & Panasonic are the TV leaders. Sharp and Panasonic with Stereos as well ! And as for MP3, well yep you guessed it, Panasonic but even they are quite far behind the ipod. Phone wise again it's Sharp, Panasonic and Toshiba who are calling the shots. Just where are Sony? Oh yeah, they are winning in the "who's got the biggest warehouse full of fault stock" pole

It's odd - my experience with Sony has been very hit-or-miss. My first Playstation 2 began to have disc reading issues for no reason at all, however my slim PSTwo, my PSOne, and my TEST unit have never had any problems. My Sony Walkman has been through hell and back (numerous unprotected drops to concrete) and is working great, however my MiniDisc player broke with much less abuse.

I'll be honest, I don't hate Sony nearly as much as some of you obviously do, but I don't think I'll miss them...

Somehow I feel that Sony will do just fine. The fact that they are greedy sons of bitches is another thing. I don't like what's been going on with the console market lately. Two versions or one platform. One you should get because it works like a console should, and another one that's cheap, but you'll probably end up buying the extras anyway. That's crazy. Xbox 360 is shit with its American games. Where are the good Japanese titles?

"Wow! Lost Planet is soooo cool!" Sure it is. With a Leon ripoff, monsters from Metroid Prime and alot of snow. I've seen a demo of the new Tony Hawk game for 360. Sweet into. Holy shit! The characters even have 3D modelled shoelaces! But wait... Framerate is shit! What do I need 3D shoelaces for if the system can't push it?

Burnout Revenge on 360 doesn't look much different from the original Xbox version. If you're watching a low quality video, you can't really tell the difference. If you play it, ok. The resolution is higher, but the game haven't changed besides that.

It just gets on my nerves. When PlayStation 2 came out, the games you could play on it were at least ahead of everything ealse. Same with DreamCast. Nowdays you get the parallell releases. The game comes out on 360, wham! It comes out for PC too!

Sony tries too hard to make as much money as they can, insulting out intelligence. Come on! Give us something to thank you for. A slot for Memory Stick or whatever, so we don't have to buy 8 megs of memory or third party memory cards! USB ports, some NICE features that make you feel your money was well spent!

Xbox 360 sucks ass. It does. At least I think it does. For now at least. PlayStation 3 will most likely have better titles, so it will automatically rank higher in my books. But I guess it's Wii that really took it home this time. I just wish Nintendo all the best with their new platform. I've had enough of greedy fucks at Microsoft and Sony.

What the fuck is Sony thinking anyways? Do you remember things like HORIZONTAL stand for PlayStation 2? A fucking piece of plastic for what? So that your PS2 doesn't stand up all of a sudden?

Most of my Sony stuff has all been good quality and is still going. I've pushed my CD Walkman to the limits and it still works, and my PS2 has worked fine since day 1.
Though Dualshocks, however, I have less luck with. They never seem to withstand being dropped, and no matter how careful I am after a while the shoulder buttons break. I now use a couple of cheap third party imitations and only get the Sony controllers out when gaming for long periods. Alltogether I've killed 3 or 4 of them so far.

I guess so, but if I would have bought a game like Tekken Tag Tournament vs. Soul Calibur back in the day for full price, I would have felt sort of ripped off, lol. It seems kind of like launch games have sucked a bit lately, hopefully Wii changes that.
