Hi, This weekend I found two of these Sony KX-14CP1 Trinitrons at a fleamarket. I didn't really know what they were but when I saw SCART RGB input I guessed they might make a great monitor for my Sega Megadrive and CDi. So I got both (only 1 euro each) and they work fine with great picture quality. However, 1 one them makes a very annoying buzzing sound as soon as video is displayed. The loudness depends on what is displayed on screen. I opened it up and the sound appears (not sure) to be coming from the black thing connected to the red anode cable which apparently is the flyback transformer. Can this be making the noise? Does it have to be replaced or can it be repaired? Is it worth to find some shop that can repair it or is this thing almost ready for the junkyard? Also the HUE control doesn't seem to do anything on either monitor.
I woudl take it from you... You just need to replace some of components. If you dont have experience have a shop do it. These are desired models.
