I don't like free to play. I'm not paying £4 per weapon/tool/device, £3 per cosmetic accessory, £8 per vehicle, or any of the ridiculous other fees for content that easily make games cost hundreds of dollars. Furthermore, many of these games are just pay to win scams. Publishers and developers are focusing all their efforts on stamping out piracy and cheating all whilst ignoring the traditional consumer that has been their lifeblood for decades. I really do care if publishers are upset they lost some imaginary number of sales due to piracy, or that they are upset people pay monthly fees to cheating services to give them an edge in competitive games. I want gameplay, content, and a level playing field all for one price just like what has worked for decades for companies that actually supported their products.

Works for the mobile scene because it's mostly causal or just got 10 or 15 minutes to play kind of games. On the other hand I feel the console is a sit down and play for an hour or more and most likely competitively so yeah a F2P process there will be interesting to say the least.

The only free to play stuff I have played really is on my iPad, the micro transactions are pretty irritating, but they are just like pointless quick fixes in order to obtain something faster than what you can without, but I have never been tempted to buy those kinda things because it seems like cheating at the game. Only stuff I paid for aside from actual games was costumes/characters in KoF i2012 and something in Rayman...but those were also optional and not having them, wouldn't prevent access to any parts of the games and those are kinda similar to DLC things that you can get in proper console games, plus they were in sale so were cheaper...

No thanks. Sounds like upcoming generation will be the worst and prelude to a crash.

Compete with casual tablet and phone games is the surest way to go out of business.

Yeah I have to agree with this.

But, some games can be successful/good. The less they focus on game-breaking micro transactions the less chance of shit hitting the fan. Do what other games have done, offer tons of purely aesthetic things to buy that don't effect gameplay at all.

But if they are gonna go the iOS direction then shit will get ugly real quick.
