    "European consumers have shown that historically they don't mind [the delays], because they end up buying as many PlayStations, if not more, than the US and Japan. In Europe, it doesn't seem that the release of our platforms after the US and Japan—in the long run—affects how consumers feel."

    :shrug::banghead::eek:h:

    "If we were sitting here in five years' time, I don't think we'd really think about or notice that PlayStation 3 was four or five months later in Europe. I think in the long run, PlayStation 3 will succeed because of the great product it is and the great software we make for it."

    :noooo::confused::Shit:

    I think the real reason they don't mind is because they weren't gonna buy it anyway! ;)

    Well i hope more europeans like me are fed up with getting screwed over with everything. I mostly get my stuff JAP/USA now, and will be doing so with future consoles i buy too. Its
    A. Cheaper
    B. usually faster
    C. Standard 60hz/faster

    If I was European, I would pretty much import everything. I mean, I remember when Sony made a big fuss about selling PSP's early to Europeans and wanted all this stuff done to prevent it.

    Problem with importing, for me atleast, is that I still like going to the store and buying something. With stuff you buy over the internet that comes from america, you have to wait 1-2 weeks or pay a lot of money for fast delivery. And it's harder to score some discounted games if you only buy online :p

    What a daft comment. Even if you secretly believe it, you don't tell your loyal customers that they don't mind being placed second best yet again. For "Don't mind", read "Had no chance". This time though, we do.

    Sony have shot themselves in the foot, at least in the UK. It's cheaper to import a PS3 from the US or Japan than it is to buy in the shops and with no region encoding, the average gamer will be much more willing to do this than ever before. If they going to make us wait several months, then a week long wait for a cheaper NTSC machine to arrive in the post is completely negated.

    Add the fact that the PS3 has some serious competition in the form of the 360 and Wii and Sony are looking very precariously. The 360 just needs the next edition of Pro Evo and Sony are going to take some serious damage. And serve them right too.

    He's right - i don't really care that the PS3 is delayed in Europe.

    Europeans all know that Sony hardware tends to be buggy. So let Japanese and US residents do the beta-test - we'll get a reliable console with a bunch of good games later.
