Good news for Sony fans, PS4 owners and Kojima fans... http://www.avclub.com/article/hideo-kojima-leaves-konami-partners-sony-first-gam-229901 Can't wait to see what happens here. Sony sure has been cozying up to Japanese developers. First Yu Suzuki, now Hideo Kojima.
XBOTs will be in extreme damage control now. Screaming about how much MGS5 sucked and list their exclusives that they won't buy when they actually do come out. For a huge Nintendo fanboy , Kojima sure does show Sony a lot of love.
Best GIF ever I wonder what the game he's making is going to be. Familiar territory or something new entirely? Anyone else notice he's turning into a Fusion-Ha version of Hediki Anno and Haiyo Miyazaki?
I saw this earlier on Reddit. Good stuff. They're both just so dorky about it haha. I've always seen Kojima as a Sony man. Without the PS1 Metal Gear Solid would have been very different. MGS 2 was at first a Sony exclusive, MGS3 was as well and MGS4 will likely always been a Sony exclusive. IMO MGSV was multi-plat because Konami wanted to recoup as much money as possible. If they could have sold a Dreamcast version they would have. I lol'd at this one. A+.
It's more tasteful than other terms I've heard for annoying XBOX fanboys. MGS On Dreamcast........that'a a Pipe dream OH WAIT....
Kojima this, Kojima that. At least he's being treated with the respect he deserves. Sony do love giving into social media though.
myself I am glad that he is no longer with Konami, that company seems to be doing everything they can to destroy themselves. I hope that Kojima takes a look at some of his old properties and either reboots (if he owns any of the rights, which I kind of doubt) or does a spiritual successor to them like Inafune, and Igarashi have done.
Only western CEO I have heard speak decent Japanese. It's still crude, but far better than anyone I've ever heard.
I'm excited for Quiet Mountains. He's trapped in the year 2004 actually. Zero chance. The only reason Konami is still in the games industry is because their IPs are so valuable that they can rerelease them or develop a game using one on the cheap. Or, preferably, make a MGS pachinko machine!
I understood that considering most of the companies use the "work for hire" concept where anything you create while at the company they own. But properties can change hands all the time. I just wonder if he ever had the chance to purchase the rights to properties. The only time I really hear anything about a property changing companies is due to auctions of assets.
Can't wait to see what he does with Sony. Hopefully he gets the resources he needs to make something great!
GO look up nextgen720, Blacky Labowski and Blazing Phoenix on You Tube........... and you will understand why I say XBOTs. My problem isn't with Microsoft or the XBONE itslef. it's the Delusional fannies that make pointless you tube videos and insult people based on their gaming preference. PC gamers do it too mind you. But The people I listed are the worst. But I'm going way off topic. Here's an article about Kojima's new found freedome http://www.vg247.com/2015/12/17/kojima-productions-can-be-more-edgy-not-that-its-indie/
I'm just glad that Kojima is now finally somewhere that gives him the chance to make games the way he wishes to see fit and not what an out of touch, batshit insanely maniacal idiot ran company like Konami thinks would sell.
I have to be honest here, with Kojima signing onto Sony, I am a little worried but also happy. First off, because Konami no longer has Kojima, and they're recent actions have been very *messy* for lack of a better word, it makes me think we may no longer see Konami in the video game industry (though tabletop gaming may stay). Secondly, I do see this as a nice opportunity as now he's in a first party position, which could potentially be a great thing for the PS4/Vita (maybe vita). It's a mixed bag...
