Sony is telling people to take a long walk off a short pier... in a manner of speaking. Seems tasteless to me, i'm all for a good laugh but this is over the line. http://www.manchesteronline.co.uk/men/news/s/206/206881_no_play_station_say_metro_bosses.html
what a retarted add, i mean come on its common sense. This is another add such as the classic thorn crown the vadican protested. Honestly is sony trying hard to be like sega in europe?
That's fucking hilarious. I don't know how it acts as an advertisement for the Playstation, but it's pretty funny (which I guess is how it acts as an advertisement, then, eh?). Even funnier that the transit authority approved it. ...word is bondage...
I'd say it's more a matter of bad judgement on it's placement than it is tasteless. I heard about these ads a few days ago, and there are supposedly ALOT of them posted up in that city. They're to "show off" the different features of the PSP, and there's alot more. That one is supposed to be for games, notice the game icon (controller) is bigger than the others. Here's a couple of the others; One for picture viewing here. ...and one for video here. I seriously doubt Sony is trying to piss more people off... there was already the crown of thorns thing and the grafitti adverts over here.
Wow is it just me or is sony at their lowest point right about now, consumer electronics at an all time low, ps3 keeps having delays and issuses, now this. What possibly more could go wrong?
Alcoholics Anonymous or anonymous alcoholics?? Anyways, I'm totally missing the point of all these ads. Why do a running leap, my girlfriend's white bits (white bits? what the hell are THOSE?), and scenes of a strong and sexual nature belong on the blank signs, and furthermore, what does that even have to do with a PS2 or PSP?
One of those ads that's funny as hell when brainstorming but you should think twice before actually doing it. Kind of like that VW Golf ad that was only meant to be a demo for the ad agency.
So, they have this "Take A Running Jump Here" sign up else where in the city, too? That takes all the fun out of it, if it was just an accidental meaning. Placed on a train platform it's great, but anywhere else it's just more of the same lame advertising that we see all around us and ignore. The best partr of this story, though, is that Metrolink was afraid it would really encourage people to leap onto the line. Says something about how taken in by advertising our society is, doesn't it? ...word is bondage...
Supposedly... I can't exactly confirm if that one is also on buses or *inside* the trains since I live in the US. But it probably is posted in other places. I think it's pretty funny too, but it's a little depressing that they think people will actually take that sign's "advice". People need to lighten up. Nobody seems to be able to agree on what the "white bits" part means, the best suggestion I've seen was 'underwear'. Like I said, they're meant to advertise the different features of the PSP. Whether they're doing that or not, they've definately got alot of people talking about it, don't they?
