A hacker has managed to... Well .. Hack into Sony Pictures Servers and steal a bunch of files and leaving this message on all computers in SPE's network.. A group or person going by the name #Gop has managed to compromise SPE's servers and is now holding the movie giant hostage. Currently it's still unclear as to why they have been hacked and if any serious data was actually taken (customer info).. It appears the breach is contained in SPE and does not branch out to SCE or Playstation.. This picture was allegedly taken from a staff terminal at SPE and reports are saying that all staff have been told to go home.. The linked files point to a Zip file contains two large (very large) text documents, with what appears to be a file list from SPE's servers. Going by file names alone, the suggested content seems to be mainly pitches, password lists (internal), possibly staff info (phone numbers, email, addresses ect) and financial documents. http://www.reddit.com/r/hacking/comments/2n9zhv/i_used_to_work_for_sony_pictures_my_friend_still/
That would be pretty scary booting up to. Then again, it could be a group of people they sacked to save money and it's bitten them in the ass
November 24th? It's November 26th here now and nothing has happened it would seem. Looks like bullshit.
The thought that a group has penetrated a system deep enough to be able to change wallpaper/screensaver, I'm a mere apprentice (well not anymore, I finished that a few days ago and am a proper employee now) but that's scary to me. Maybe to a more senior guy it's not, but I doubt that
a lot of big companies only focus on securing the outside and once you are in there isn't much protection (giggetty) yeah the guy who posted this on reddit used to work there and the picture was sent to him (or her) by a friend who still works there..
Oh wow.. At least the image is nothing from a creepypasta, also i wonder if there was any sound effects to go along with the image.
I think the boss music from the US version of Sonic CD would've been appropriate to play once the computer booted to that image.
LOL!!! Are people that dumb to think that's how the screener of fury was leaked?? Bwahahahaha if that's the case then damn sony and every other film company must be constantly hacked.. screeners get leaked by the people they are sent too..
For the lazy one's among us; "Sony is "exploring the possibility" of a North Korean link to the hacking, according to Re/code and other reports. That's because Sony is about to release "The Interview," a comedy starring James Franco and Seth Rogen. Its plot entails an attempted assassination of the North Korean leader Kim Jong-Un. The regime in Pyongyang has been fuming about the movie for months; in June, a spokesman for the North Korean Foreign Ministry called it "undisguised terrorism and a war action" and hinted at consequences to come. "Those who defamed our supreme leadership and committed the hostile acts against the DPRK can never escape the stern punishment to be meted out," the spokesman said. The comedy is scheduled to be released on December 25. Notably, it does not appear to be circulating online like Sony's "Fury" and "Annie" now are." & "Three other forthcoming Sony films -- "Still Alice," "Mr. Turner," and "To Write Love on Her Arms" -- have also appeared on file-sharing sites. While the timing does match up, there has been no independent confirmation that last week's extensive cyber-attack was the cause of the film leak." source: http://money.cnn.com/2014/11/30/media/sony-films-leak/index.html?hpt=hp_t2
Lol, Seth Rogan and James Franco. Is there any indication as to where the skeleton image its self is from?
