SOP or DIP for Wondermega Mk1 Bios?

Hi! Just got my dream console in the mail.
Bought as junk from yahoo jp. Turns out it works fine though.

Thinking about opening it up, cleaning it and RGB modding it (might try a switchless mod to?) Anyway, I might have a go at installing a regionfree bios when im at it.
The MK2 seems to use a SOP package, question is, can I use a standard EPROM like on the sega CD 1? Or do I have to use some other chip with mismatching pinout like the X eye?

Any tip on a region and RGBmod is much apreceated. I was thinking i might use the av out as RGB out?
