LOL Well I don't think it would matter if the subtites were real or not. It's the notion that they have everyone fooled into doing crazy things that actually are a part of Japanese culture.

Not 100% but good enough to watch a full Series of Maison Ikkoku understanding 90% of it  There are still some words I don't know because I either hardly ever hear them or just don't need them. Political crap I'm not to hot on but for everyday TV, life and so on I'd say, yeah I'm prett much perfect. Can't read kanji very well though :crying:

I thought it was pretty good.

I only recently found out from a friend who moved to China recently that what we call Chinese food isn't eated in China either! I'd be interested to know what they do actually say mind you, not that it will be any funnier I'm sure :)

Oi, I'm jealous. I'm taking a Japanese class at my university and although my reading proficiency is really good I find it incredibly difficult to process Japanese by sound. Any ideas? Or did you just pick it up after being exposed to it for so long?

Oh, I'd love to learn Japanese, but I can't find anywhere local that I can learn. I got one of those 'Teach Yourself' things for the PC but I never found the time to sit down and talk to myself!

I'd recommend Japanese Pod 101.com (you can get the podcast on iTunes too). It's a free Japanese language learning service that's actually quite well done. They'll start you off with the very basics and gradually take you through to intermediate level. It's not enough to learn everything there is on your own, but it's a start and the forums are very helpful.

It won't help you with writing in Japanese, but that's easy enough to master. (Except kanji, kanji is scary.)

Sushi, or pronounced 'osushi’(おすし)is simply a roll that contains rice and vinegar and usually has raw fish, although it can have other various ingredients instead...(awaits for Gajin or Yakumo to correct something ;))

yeah, sushi (the "0" is just one of those Japanese honorific things. Means sod all really) is raw fish on rice. Sashimi is just plain raw fish.
