So Namco Learned from their Mistakes with Soul Calibur III and with IV Soul Calibur is once again Multiplatform.

That's all the details I needed to know I loved II more than the first one On DC since it brought back the Multiple Weapons from Soul Blade/Edge.

I still haven't picked III up yet. But I hear it was buggy as all Hell.

I just want the damn thing to be online. There is no excuse for it not to be, and it doesn't help that the only next gen fighter online is DOA4.

Edit: Funny how just 2 minutes after I said this, I find out that Tekken 5: Dark Resurrection on the PS3 is getting a online mode. Still not next gen, but at least it is a start. Not to mention it may be a good sign that Namco is looking at online as a option.

I wonder how Namco will handle the lag in SC IV, provided there is an online mode to speak of.

    Hahaha.

Now, bullet time with Ivy's whip-sword would be pretty damn cool.

    :p

Unlike sports simulations or first person shooters, there really isn't any room for lag with online combat games, which is why the better-known titles (such as Virtua Fighter and Tekken, to give two examples) have taken so long to embrace network support. I'm sure that Soul Calibur IV will be Namco's test bed to see if such a feature can work well enough before risking its more popular franchise, and hopefully AM2 won't be too far behind - I'd even smile if they just re-released Virtua Fighter: 10th Anniversary with online features, as I doubt this requires much horsepower from next generation systems and would therefore run like the proverbial shi...

I m still wondering if Brawl will have online, considering the lag and nintendo's shitty service.

Brawl probably will ship with its promised online mode intact, but only in Japan and the US - we Europeans always seem to get the bum end of the deal, especially when it comes to Nintendo and its network policies!

I love the Soul Calibur series, i played countless hours of it on the dreamcast. I couldnt help but notice the change in Mitsurugi from noble samurai who said things like "even hell can`t stop me" to "you`re going down" and the likes. I think the Jap voice overs should never have been replaced by English ones in the later games. Also the artwork has become more capcom 2D-esque especially for the stills. Then again i`m one of those people who thought they made Dante in Devil may cry look like a pussy in 2/3.

A little off topic but does anyone know what region/country Mitsurugi was replaced by Arthur in the original SC. I think it was something to do with Samurai and Ninja being banned from video games in those areas.
