AWE64 cards with built-in 512kb ram can be modified to more ram, and possibly the Awe64 Gold; in particular the onboard ram. This mod is a incredible value if done properly and saves electricity in comparison to the factory upgrade module. Simmcon also extends length of card rendering it useless in small applications like "Thin Clients".

Link with instructions using 42pin dram which is two pins more than original 40pin https://www.vogons.org/viewtopic.php?f=62&t=60343.

Tested with 2mb on a ct4500 and another quote from same user
    showing ct4520.

Anyone try with 8mb or more ram?

    Thanks.

Either I'm just out of the loop but why not just install a awe64 gold if you want the increase of ram, or why not use an awe32 and install 2 16MB SIMMS to get 32MB's

CT4520 is the only card out of AWE series with short enough length for "thin client" applications. This might include other small size chassis.

Oh I didn’t see that you were building a thin client system
