sound disappeared from internal speaker turbografx express

hi ,

now for my same system, after assembly i found that sound only works from earphones socket, but internal speaker is mute , whats wrong? removed all wires from 5v + of caps in case any of them was drawing the power but nothing happened? any clue?

just to remind :

obey av chip installed
rgb installed (without its audio, only rbg y connected)
external controller port

it was working before i do video mods ..

If you have the good electronics skills you say you do - cant you just trace out the audio circuit, checking where you lose the signal with your scope?

You should be able to see if you have a signal at the source and find where you lose it.

 

thanks for your reply, its not about my skill rather than my time, there is no harm in getting a straight forward solution from someone who faced the same issue, could be as complicated as you say, or it could be as simple but un expected as I accidentally found.

the socket is stuck/broken , it doesnt return the sound to inner speaker when you unplug the earphone jack
