Anyone got some decent information about the sound chip in the PC Engine/Turbografx 16? What it's called, what functions it can perform? All I can find out is that it's 6-channel and has 5-bit sample playback. I can't even find out the name of the chip. Ideally I'm not after memory addresses, timings, register info or anything like that, just a decent overview of the chip and its capabilities. I'm trying to write a dissertation on videogame music, starting with a history of the tech behind it. Any links or info greatly appreciated.

One of the links on the second page gave me some of David Shadoff's work which had everything I needed. Honourary mentions for Antipasta
