Hello Talking about Mega Drives, we already know that first models have better sound quality. There are tons of videos showing the difference, and I not here to ask about it. I am here to ask about a real problem (maybe?). I have two Mega Drives. The first one is a Model 1 and I have no problems with it. But my second unit is a Japanese model 2, and I have a strange interference in the sound. The first video is my model 1 with scart cable + Framemeinster. The second video is my Japanese model 2 with scart cable + Framemeinster too. As you can see, there is a strange interference in the sound. For me, looks like the right side ins't working properly. And btw, the TV volume is the same. Is there something that I could try to fix it? Maybe a cap replacement?
Moved to the repair forum. Can't see sound Check caps first. If that doesn't fix it, look at the Z80 (actually a CMOS Z80 IIRC, so Z84?) [EDIT] Oh, BTW, what video cable are you using?
Thank you retro. I use cables from RetroGamingCables. And I took some pictures: Looks like everything are ok. I tried to compare this board at Google Images and I could not find a similar one. Maybe Its a clone console? Would be strange, once there is Sega CD input and components are from Motorola, Sony and NEC.
