Hi there! I've found this old relique at the flea market this morning for about 10 US $. Although the brand name isn't printed on the console, I'm pretty sure it's Soundic's SD-05 (same layout, even the game I bought looks the same). This console was released over the late 70's and early 80's and 6 Pong-like games were ever released for it. I have taken a picture of it with my mobile phone - look below: Gamepads can be taken out from the console so that you can use it from a distance of ~40 cm. If I'm not wrong, this kind of videogame systems had their processors inside the game's cartridge and the console had to colorize it, so that you'd get a 6 colour display! The only sellers I've seen selling this ask for a relative big amount of money for them (10$ for each game and even 80$ for a pack with the console and 4 games). I have to do some more research though. Greetings!
These things are quite common being part of the PC-50x family. The "console" is basiclly nothing more then the controllers, buttons, PSU and RF encoder with each cartridge being a General Instruments AY-3-8(6/7/8)xx chip which has a selection of games. The chips output colour as there are NTSC / PAL versions of the chips. Most of these were made in Hong Kong, with a large number of resllers including Soundic, Hanimex, ITMC, Grandstand selling them in various parts of Europe. The cartridges are compatable across systems.
