Space Channel 5 Part 2 (PS2) - PAL UK edition?

I have a copy of Space Channel 5 Part 2 for PS2. According to various wikis, it was never released in the UK, but this one looks like it was made for the UK market - ELSPA ratings logo, box copy and manual (and a promotional slip for Memory Cards) entirely in English with no other languages. Title ID is SCES-50612.

Can anyone confirm its provenance and give a price estimate?

 

It was released in the UK, only the wiki says it wasn't. Needs to be fixed I suppose. SegaRetro has the UK artwork on their page.

As for price.... assuming the disc is great, maybe $35-40 but I really don't know a lot about it.

Huh, that's interesting. Wonder where this idea came from - that it was never released, or recalled, in the UK due to Michael Jackson's sex offences trial happening at roughly the same time. (He's a supporting character in the game.) It seems to have stuck around on wiki pages like some kind of urban legend.

Nonetheless I think it's an uncommon game in its own right, but without that elusive "possibly never released / part of a batch of recalled games" aspect, the desirability goes way down. I think I'll just hang on to it....
