O.K. - here's something for all my die-hard Dreamcast collector friends: We all know that Sega marketing was some kind of weird and in Germany Sega had a promotion deal with Milka, which is a company that produces chocolade. There were even special Milka edition Dreamcast display pods here in Germany and some may remember the special Milka edition white-label (i'd a thread once under the following link. http://www.assemblergames.com/forums/showthread.php?t=9835&highlight=pics:+rarest+dreamcast This Dreamcast was given away in the "Milka-Alpineadventure" contest on the company's website in 2000. You could win a sports camp weekend with the famous German Ski-Jumper Martin Schmitt (who was sponsored by Milka) and 1 out of 10 of this promo-Dreamcasts. So this Promo-console is really rare. It has a special Milka sticker on the lid but the rest is only regular retail stuff. Anyway - a nice find and i only saw one single unit on Ebay for sale years ago. I don't think that this unit was metioned before anywhere on the web.
But it does look like someone has slapped a sticker on it though... I'm sure 20 minutes in Photoshop and some transparent inkjet sheet you could do the same thing...
You're right Jamtex, but still I doubt that someone would make such effort for selling a totally unpopular Milka-console that I consider most people won't even pay much for exactly because of mentioned reasons.
I also prefer real limited edition consoles but this is for sure one for the die-hard collectors who already have the "regular" models. Look at Toyota or CSK Edition Dreamcast - there's nothing more special on them than on this Milka console.
It would be cool if you had all the promotional competition stuff to go with the console. That would make it more of a limited edition I reckon. Still cool though.
You´re the man of the dreamcast masters clan! jeje thanks for share ground. I also see it that other japan promo editions, like toyota for example. Better if it is accompanied by the promo gd. In Europe there a lot of promo dreamcast editions, more that japan.
Honestly I doubt that this is an actual promo Dreamcast. It just looks like a PAL Dreamcast with a cheap sticker on it.
I found in the Milka website in 2000 (http://web.archive.org/web/20000614104425/www.milka.de/) and I found that there were giving Dreamcasts on the competition, so maybe that unit is real! Anyway, I couldn't find more info about it that this banner: It doesn't say a lot, but is all that I could find via archive.org. But I don't know how much can a totally standard Dreamcast with a small sticker can worth. Maybe if the box has some different artwork (which I can see in the pic that doesn't have), or the accessories have something different to the standard stuff...
if you can get the device with the milka promotion software together, it would be much more special than only with the cheap sticker on it. anyway, nice to know something like that existed, even it isn't such a special thing though
