Hope to see you around more :)

  6. If you are using XP, try turning off System Restore (System Control Panel, System Restore tab) before running the spyware scanner/virus scanner/whatever. This is what we do at work:
    1) Turn off System Recovery
    2) Run Ad-aware
    3) Run Spybot
    4) Run TrendMicro Housecall
    5) Do all critical updates
and this gets rid of 99.9% of problems.
I do also heartily recommend using Mozilla Firefox as your web browser in the future.

  7. Another good idea is to download the free ZoneAlarm firewall (I forgot the URL, but just Google it), as a lot of the spyware and crap is now able to sneak on via an open internet connection, and sooner or later you get my recurring problem of being blasted with about 8 trojans at once. I hate ZoneAlarm, however, because you have to okay with it every single program you want to use the internet with, plus it does goofy crap to MSN Messenger (you have to close and reopen messenger to get it to work). Other than that, it works nice.

And if you're in need of a free antivirus (which can sometimes take care of spyware) try AVG Antivirus free edition at http://www.grisoft.com

Hope this works, and hope things at home shape up too! :drinkers:
