Once you got all pre-3D games , is it possible that you start collecting recent one too?

I dont think so, because after Chrono Chross and with the fusion Square-Enix the Style is diffrent and to mainstream for me.
I play all the old Games when i was young, and thats for me the best Game Time ever. Square has an hard, lucky and interessting Past. All this the Reason for me. But i played Dragon Quest 8 very often too:).

That's a decent collection for having only started a year ago. The Famicom disk games are awesome to look at. I love retro packaging.

You have your work cut out for you collecting Japanese RPGs. Not only is there a ton, but if you don't read Japanese there's a ton of research involved figuring out what's an RPG and what isn't. It would seem almost easier to go Adol's route and just buy up all the Super Famicom games you laid your eyes on. :p

If you need a list of titles, it's not complete, but I spent a lot of time in my "rom kiddie" days picking out Japanese RPGs. It would be a good start of games to look out for.

The RPG's are good and all, but don't overlook Squaresoft's other genres;fighting games, strategy games, shooting games etc which tend to have alot of rpg elements in them as well. A good example of this is Einhander for the PS1, or the Front Mission series. Both definite favorites of mine.
