I'm trying to remotely login to my home computer(target) from a friends house.

    Set-Up:
    -Both machines on Windows 7
-Open SSH via Cygwin installed on target computer.
-Using Team View to set up target computer

My home/target computer has the Cygwin server running as a service. First off, what username do I use to use to login to it. EX: When I run terminal the window says josh@desktop. So when I try to access my computer remotely via putty do I use josh@desktop@12.34.5.67(Where 1234567 is my public Ip) or do I use cygserver@desktop@12.34.5.67? Will putty prompt for an RSA key or will it just not connect? I tried every combination I could think of so I thought something else must be wrong. So I logged into my router and port forwarded 22. When I did a port scan online my only port that was open was port 1234. Port 1234 being the port I can remotely login to my wireless router. Then I read that I needed a static IP. So on the target machine I stupidly, set a static IP of 192.168.1.0 to the ethernet adapter. Now my router doesn't even show the target as being connected so I can't control it. The target computer is wired directly to the router. I also disabled my firewall on target.

    What am I doing wrong?
Right now the only thing I have control of is my router via a remote connection. Is there anything I can do to get my computer connected again without physically being there?

You need to setup a port forward on your router so it knows to pass SSH information to your target. Unfortunately you've screwed up your ethernet on the target so you'll need to go home to fix that.

You can test your setup at home by ssh'ing into your WAN IP address (ie, your public IP address that is issued to your router).
