I have an st-v board and it won't get out of the dev mode here's what it says: ST-V SYSTEM BOOTver. 1.13 Welcome to developing mode (c) Sega Enterprises, LTD 1994 Now i can go through some options as far as the menu is concerned but i always end up back at this screen? Any ideas?
I'm no expert on STV, but my first guesses would be: 1. Check dips...if STV has them...and uh...flip them to wherever they should be. 2. Check the bios. I didn't know STV had a development mode...so maybe you have a different bios. 3. Remove any backup battery to clear settings...and hopefully return them to factory defaults...and then replace...thats provided the settings are stored by battery back up. 4. Push the service/test switch...er...or whatever that button is that puts jamma boards into the test/settings mode. Keep in mind, I don't own an STV...so I'm just tossing out general ideas I'd have if I had an arcade board that I knew nothing about and was doing something I didn't want it to.
I'm pretty sure one of the dips puts it in dev mode, I had trouble figuring it out too. Doesn't do anything other than look pretty once it's there - it needs SCSI comms from a host PC to do anything dev'y. Can you get the test menu up? I think it might actually be a soft-DIP setting in there somewhere... There is a copy of the manual online somewhere but I can't find it now >_< Stone
That's the one, thank you! Manual says you get into developer mode by booting with the TEST switch held down, so I'd check your Supergun isn't broken and the switch on the board hasn't got stuck. Stone
Sorry for the rather old bump (this is still on the front page however) I recently had this problem with my STV board. It's likely not a stuck TEST switch, there's actually an option on the STV board to automatically boot into developers mode (for whatever reason) Navigate into the system configuration menu using the 2 tiny buttons on the STV board to the bottom right of the CN5 chip and change Develop-Boot to "No" (The other option is Cart-Dev) Sorry if this is terribly obvious, but I couldn't find this anywhere and I'm not arcade-savvy so I thought I'd post my solution.
