Stamped 360 backwords compatibility disc

I ordered mine when they first became available and it was on back order.
Just so everyone knows.

 

Of course it's on backorder. Didn't you know that everyone in the world has high speed internet access and should have their 360 networked by now?

 

...It's about time it was updated at the moment its not worth the disc it's burned / pressed on

 

I ordered mine a few days ago. If I don't forget, I'll probably order all of the update disks just for the heck of it

 

Are they including emulation updates on games, like you get PSP firmware updates on games?

 

I finally got mine in the mail.
It's a stamped disc that ships in a white dual fold cardboard mailer. Has the original and new Xbox logo on the top portion with a green color scheme. Kind of looks like those Recovery Discs for the original Xbox.

The update takes all of 10 seconds and brings the console up to Ver 1.2
One thing I noticed is that after applying the update, I get a "Achievement Unlocked" notification message in-game whenever I unlock something in Condemened. The notification is similar to the one you get when you log into your profile. Previously, I don't recall seeing this notification so I'm wondering if Microsoft has tightend up the Achievement system with this update?

 

Mine finally came in the other day as well..

 

i just finished playing a few hours worth of condemened and i havent used the update disc.after the first level everytime you find a bird or metal piece it for some reason tells you the "achievement unlocked"message.i dont know why it doesnt on the first stage though.

 

why is it that i cant find where to order this disc from?when i hit the link on the page for using the disc it just tells how to use it.

 

If you scroll down about 1/3 of the page (just under the first set of instructions) there is a part that says "Order the original xbox games support cd" With an arrow down menu to select the country (only valid in US/Canada right now) Then the "order now" button takes you to the shopping cart type page to complete the order.

Also just for future reference, use the edit button rather than double post. :thumbsup:

 

That's also a setting you can change. You can turn on/off the visual notification and the chime. The update might have changed your settings to default.

 

...Beware of the latest dash update as it will block you from using the Kiosk Disc ;-)

Of course if you *don't* update you can no longer play on Live.

Yes, that's mainly what this update disc is for.
