So i was going to post this earlier but wanted to wait until the auction finished.
I won it for £33, must be worth 10s of thousands if it was real.
Seller says he got it 11 years ago from a Nintendo employee. I asked if it was a repro and he said no its a prototype beta test cart. Unsurprisingly he refunded my money a couple of days after i paid.
What are your thoughts on this Assembler guys and girls? Screenshot_2015-12-20-09-58-25.png

To tell what it is you need pictures from the board inside the shell. Whithout that, depending on the price and PAL its a fake...

He had a pic of the bottom and it has the extra pins for a super fx game. He also has over 800 feedback with the only negatives being for some items being dirty and not sending something that sold for too little so seems trustworthy. Well he would be if he sent my game :(

    That proves nothing.

Without opening the cart it can just be any old repro.

I can make a cart that looks just the same as that with starfox 2 on it

Yes i know that is not good evidence but if it was a repro in that old sfc shell then i would have thought he would have posted it? I can get a repro with printed label for about £30 so if he knew it was bogus he would have taken the money and ran?

Probably? Or he didn't know it's a repro and just that it's starfox 2 and made up a story to go with it.

Who knows, but without a pic of the pcb, it's very likely to just be a repro. Anyone selling a test cart legit would know to show pictures of the pcb as proof

But what if it is the only test cart in existence? What would the value be?

If it were to be real, it would be worth way more then the gamebit screwdriver you need to open this cartridge :). It's useless to speculate about the price without knowing if it's real, once you opened the cartridge and it looks legit you'll get offers left and right without an doubt.

*dang* I get it now! In that case let's hope it's a repro so that you didn't miss out on your Star Fox millions ;)

Pretty easy to tell whether or not it is real - play it. If it is the same as the leaked version, then it is definitely a repro.

Probably a repro scam, and since you asked about it he realized he probably wouldn't get away with it so he canceled the deal.

Seems you get to keep 33 and not just a random game without the stickers. ;) But I know the feel, keep looking, one day in the future for sure.
