Anyone Played this one? Worth the money? Since It was announced I've been keeping an eye on it, and I could really do with some more PSP games.
It's not a port of the N64 version by any chance, is it? I remember seeing a few screenshots of it and it bore a very similar resemblance....
Its average. Not great, but not bad either. The controls take a bit to get used to though (having to flip the system sideways does that). Worth the going price? No.
You don't need to hold it vertically, just hold it normally and it just plays like R-Type instead of Ikaruga. I would say it's worth buying if it's cheap, but wouldn't get it full price unless it was a limited release.
True, but it somehow feels 'wrong' playing that way. All the text, numbers, and stats are positioned wrong then, and the perspective seems distorted due to how the camera views the background objects. But im mostly used to playing it the ways its supposed to anyway. Yea, actualy i've been checking out alot of different psp games latly. Im looking into these ones currently: Untold Legends Ape Escape: On the Loose Taiko no Tatsujin Portable Coded Arms Sengoku Cannon: Sengoku Ace Episode III Death Jr Rengoku The Tower of Purgatory Soukyuu no Fafner Need For Speed Underground : Rivals Wipeout Pure Ridge Racers Shutokou Battle (Tokyo Xtreme Racing) Also, sense your looking at getting some more ones, here are the ones i've played and my general thoughts on what was good/bad about them: Luminies - Another tetris ripoff but with techno music and flashing lights. Twisted Metal: Head On - A car combat game with good graphics, average level designe, and decent music, but is almost uncontrolably fast. Mercury - Unique puzzler thats too hard for its own good (realy needs tilt sensor). Astonishia Story - Difficult strat-RPG with nice 2D graphics and art, but lacks some personality due to having little-no visual character expression. Bleach: Heat the Soul 2 - A 1on1 fighting game thats fun, more so for fans of the anime/manga, but ultimatly limited and somewhat unfulfilling. Star Soldier - Shump thats relativly easy (once you get used to the controls), has good graphics, but is lacking in power ups and long livity. Once I get to try the games I mentioned ill give some impressions of them here as well.
Fair enough, Cheers. The trouble is, none of them really jump out at me, which is a shame because the PSP is a damn fine console, just needs some more good games. I think the money might now go on nanostray for the DS, sounds like people are rating it higher than star soldier.
