I wonder if they'll make the story extremely gay and the worlds rainbow colored like in WoW...

Just imagine: Zerg, Protoss, and Terran all joining together to fight a common "Monster"

    lol

If Id could bring the Doom franchise back after almost 10 years of no new releases (1995-2004) then I'm sure blizzard can bring the starcraft craziness back, specially with the big mountain of cash they got from WoW.

Odds of blizzard releasing a World of Starcraft after this one: 1:1:nod:

Thankfully StarCraft doesn't really conform to a pointless never ending MMORPG world. Thankfully it is completely war based in a desolete future. One thing I really like about StarCraft over WarCraft 3 is the lack of heroes which in my opinion ruined standard games in WC3.

I'm sure they can find a way over that (I know I would if there was so much money in there for me)....

people play kind of cheap at it now, but it always had a great storyline, and I think the Zerg aliens are pretty original. There buildings are made of PEOPLE!

SURELY this is a joke. SURELY.

If not, Tyranids say "Whats up?"

Yes, one could say that GW got the idea from Starship Troopers, but you know, that was a fucking book. They had to go from word descriptions to create their race. Blizzard just looked at GW's designs and stole them, imo.

I admit, Blizzard had an excellent form of gameplay implemented for the Zerg, but claiming the Zerg as even "Pretty Original" is ridiculous.

If you have problems with people being nerds, I don't know how you ever managed to make over 4000 posts here.

Anyway, this dicusssion is old. Tyranids aren't original either, they've been a part of sci-fi for decades in one form or another. Most fantasy and sci-fi worlds borrow from something that came before it. Let's not go through this again.

You can still find it in stores (and it will probably be seen more with the release of 2). Buy it immediately. Dated looking maybe...but its still the best RTS out there and one of the most popular PC games of all time.

Seeing as I have absolutly no idea what the thing you showed was, yeah, I thought Zerg were pretty original, they had cool artwork, music and buildings.

Besides the music, all of that was done before. In Warhammer 40K. With the Tyranid race.

According to the fluff (AKA the story behind Warhammer 40K) every part of the Tyranid hives were organic. Including their "Planets" which were composed of organic material as well.

Whenever I played Starcraft, I was compelled to play Chongara's theme from Arc the Lad on loop. Don't ask why.

    EDIT:

Oh, and Warhammer 40K is mainly a European game. I know of a lot of enthusiasts for it, but I don't really know whether I'd call it SUPER popular or not. Though I guess DoW and that one upcoming MMO was a step closer to it being recognized. WH40K also had an FPS out for the PC back in the early 90s called Space Hulk, which came out close to when Doom 1 came out, too. I was surprised when I looked at some of the WH40K PC games that came out over the years, with some of them being almost the first ones to try something different, with how Space Hulk was an FPS / RTS hybrid, and etc.
