I didn't feel like posting this posting this in the ebay thread since this isn't something I'm selling nor do I have anything to sell. I just stumbled upon this on ebay okay moderaters. If I were looking for something like this I would go to this thread, not ebay.

Anyway, I just found this a little while ago on ebay. It seems to be legit since he has a photo of it playing on his tv.

Doesn't mean a thing, they could have an emulator plugged into it. I'd rather see pictures of the board.

    Update:

Emailed the seller to ask if they could open the cart to take pictures of the board and received this:
Which as many of us know is total nonsense. This is more than likely a bootleg considering the badly applied label and their unwillingness to help prove otherwise.

Reminds me of the ebay sellers who say "unable to test" which really means "I've tested it and it doesn't work or I'd be charging more"

Its too bad, $600 for that Starfox cart is a steal.

Got a message back from them saying that they lost their screwdriver in a recent move and will be posting pics as soon as they get another one.

Hmm. I mean, it's easy enough to lose those little screwdrivers (hell, I've done so myself) but it still doesn't explain why they didn't say so in the first place and the part about "compromising the cartridge".

Hmm interesting. I might have to eat my words on this one. Was expecting them to just grab a normal Starfox 4-blob board or just steal a pic from the web but it *appears* to check out.

    $_57.JPG

According to SNESCentral, it should have SNS-FU-0 silkscreened onto the board:

Could be that they've just printed the label and stuck it in a new case?

Never knew nintendo would use epoxy for the chips. Guess since it was a compition cart and being sold through nintendo power they tried to make for cheap as possible.

I've had a few retail Starfox carts use the epoxy chips.

I'd be happy if I was wrong about it being fake. Though you can't afford being gullible on the internet nowadays, better be skeptic unless proven wrong.

Yeah I feel a bit bad as I was a bit accusatory in my messages to them, but at the end of the day I've kinda helped their sale in some weird way ;-)

For a loose cart, it's sure a damn good condition.

Did the Star Fox Competition Cart even come in a box when sold through Nintendo Power? I'm not sure that it did. Also, all of my childhood SNES carts look great and they are "loose carts" but they've been stored in a Nintendo branded SNES cartridge storage caddy.
