So I wish to wipe my 200Gb HDD and install everything from the beginning. Reason is that I don't won't all the crap that was on it. It has a bunch of dashboards (old versions renamed .xbe.old) and a bunch of other crap that's useless for me. My goal is to make it a emulator machine for NES, SNES and N64. Anyone have the knowledge and time to make a step by step?
I'm also interested in this. I remember transferring files via FTP back in the good old days, is there a better way to do it 2018? Is there perhaps an SD card reader for the Xbox?
Softmodded Xbox, or hardmodded? If softmodded, you can FTP the Extras Disc of JCRocky5's Xbox Softmodding Tool to your HDD and run the factory reset option. This will return the Xbox's HDD to the state of a stock unit, but it will also copy his softmod installer and the game save exploits to it. Then you can just resoftmod it. If it's hardmodded, it shouldn't be too difficult to figure out which files are neccesary and which ones can go.
If it’s hardmodded, then reformat the drive using the hexen 2017 update and install a dashboard. It’s 5 or 6 presses of the a button. Best part is you don’t have to worry about your xbox going frag unlike softmods.
