Umm my nets gone down... blueyonder say its a total outage and they are working on it. So just messing about i remembered there was this wireless network that was always on around here so i thought i might try and see if i can connect to it and piss around...

So turn on my wireless card and then sudenly by mistake i click internet explorer and guess what.... im getting 60kbs downloading from the net! haha

Now i wonder when my connection does come back is there anyway i can use the extra bandwidth?

Indeed. Reminds me of something, I was at a customer today to set up the wireless network and the site survey found 5 networks... in a normal street, no bussiness nearby or anything. :smt030

Oh and in fact, in the city of Leiden (where I go to Uni and Joen lives) there's free WLAN ( + proxy'd internet without P2P) throughout the whole city! :smt033

If you're using Windows XP, you could easily enable both Network Adapters and use the "bridge connection" feature to get added bandwidth.

Right click "My Network Places", Properties, make sure 2 or more network adapters are present (and enabled), highlight both of them, right-click, select "Bridge Connections."

Pardon me fellas, but isn't this illegal?

Of course, if the person you were doing it to had any brains theyd've secured thier network in the first place.

One of the larger Aerospace companies in the area have a massive wireless LAN and are totally exposed. They do a lot of work for the MOD making big things that go bang... :-I
