    Hey guys,

I'll start this thread off with one of my favourite systems to collect for, the beloved Nintendo 64 - the first home console we had before my brother traded it for a PS1 in 1998.

First off, my treasure - a brand new, never been used, just admired Pikachu N64 Set (Toys'R'Us Exclusive)

A brand, never used Orange Pikachu N64 from Japan.

    A near mint DK64 Controller.

A photo of most of my boxed games. All have their manuals, some have everything complete.

My collector's edition Zeldas. Sorry for the rotation, this is from a mobile photo from my Facebook - and they always seem to rotate my pictures wrong -_-

    Conker's Bad Fur Day CIB.

That's all for now. I'll take photos of my loose games and games I have coming in when they finally arrive. I've got Paper Mario, Banjo Tooie, and Pokemon Stadium CIB coming in.

    Enjoy!

This is a limited edition of Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory for the PC, as well as the soundtrack of the game by Amon Tobin on vinyl. This is hands down one of my top 5 games of all time.

Also, Banjo Tooie (complete) came in. Looking forward to playing this.

The price stickers on the copies of M:I, VRally and MK64 resemble ones found at a store called Buybacks here in the US. By any chance are there other Buybacks stores located in Australia? Sorry if that's a dumb question, just curious.

Nice collection so far, any reason why you have NTSC N64 games instead of PAL?

@MBMM, nah not that I know of. I'm pretty sure they have an eBay store, which is where I got those games from for cheap. Goldeneye was only $15.

@Pikmin, thank you! The reason I opted for NTSC was due to price, as well as the fact that it puts out 60hz which is slightly smoother than PAL's 50hz. It also allows me to play my games on an older N64 I have that I plan to do an RGB mod on.

    @Rogue, thank you!

Hahahaha, never thought of that one! Yeah :( you kind of expect that when the owners just threw these things into their closets, or these games being 15 years old and going through different hands over time.

You have some great games in your collection. It's good to see more N64 love here on Assembler.
Since you are getting CIB games, I would recommend to you some box protectors. They are very good and they also make your games look a bit better. I have those box protectors on several of my CIB N64 games.

@Galdius, thanks. I've got one for my Conker, but I definitely need them for my Zeldas, and my complete copy of Paper Mario which will be arriving soon hopefully.

More stuff from my collection - Rayman 2 and Diddy Kong Racing, Pokemon Stadium, some of loose N64 stuff like Harvest Moon, Starcraft 64, Blast Corps, Tonic Trouble, NFL Blitz, NBA Showtime, Nuclear Strike 64, EP. 1 Racer, etc.

Also showing my Gameboy DMG (my Aunt gave me this when I was little) and my SupaBoy.

Your Rayman 2 box looks great. I have the brazilian version but the box is like the others, there isn't anything special.
You have some nice N64 games. Are you going for a complete collection or are you just buying games you think are fun to play?

I haven't come across the normal box before, is it just a regular print? The U.S. version is embossed with a foil layer underneath to make the art look shiny, like the Pokemon Stadium 2 box.

I'm just going for games that are fun, and ones that I enjoyed on other systems in the 90s, like Gex and Madden on the PSX. Do you collect mainly for the N64 yourself? Or do you indulge in other systems too?

I'll have some pics of my other systems collections soon, just need to get around to taking photos of everything.

Here is my complete set of Gex games for the PS1. Great platformers - near perfect games if you ask me, especially Enter The Gecko.

The brazilian box is a regular print, it doesn't have the foil layer.
I collect for several systems but I'm trying to focus on the N64 now. I want to get the full NTSC set. But it's good to collect for other systems because collecting for only one can get a bit boring sometimes. When you have several systems to buy games for things get a more interesting in my opinion. I always have games to buy and discover.

Another good reason to collect the NTSC version is that the PAL boxes (except for Australia) have ugly thick black borders around the cover art that makes all releases look like budget edition re-releases.

GEX deep undercover gecko should just be named latex crime fighter.

PAL release N64 games are just stupid in price, I believe even one of the manuals for a game was $300 or something like that. Some YouTuber I no longer watch was happy about $300 16 pieces worth of paper. It really makes you think about how much money people really have for a hobby.

I've noticed that a lot with European releases. The only advantage is that EU PAL games seem to go for a better price than AUS PAL games, even when loose.

Which is why I'm more than happy to pay for the shipping from the U.S. because even then, in comparison to a loose AUS PAL game, I'm getting it for half price pretty much. PM me a link to this video, I haven't come across enough Aussie collections on YouTube - but being excited about a manual holding high value is a bit stupid. Let me guess, the game was Snowboard Kids?

Today's arrivals. Super Mario RPG and its spiritual successor, Paper Mario.

Never said they were australian, he was from finland. Might not of been $300 but it was in the hundreds.

This doesn't happen only to european manuals. Clayfighter Sculptor's Cut manual in particular is very expensive. I wouldn't be surprised if it costs more than $1000 now. The cart goes for around $150. The box is also expensive but not as the manual (around $350-400). A CIB copy goes for more than $1500.

There was a rental only game wasn't there? Or am I confusing something? Still that price is stupid, it's really odd a single game can go for that much. NWC is another story though.
