Steve Jobs = n00b http://www.wired.com/epicenter/2010...-is-bullshit-adobe-is-lazy-apples-steve-jobs/ Adobe lazy?!?! HTML5 is the future of HTML. Flash is updated more frequently and evolves faster. Remember Flash is a plugin. Do they think no one watches flash animations or play flash games anymore? And I don't think Google is out to "kill" the iPhone. I think they want to make a superior product and help advance the future of technology. That's not evil.
Read a good article on HTML5. Basically sums it up as some good elements, but would take at least the next decade before it becomes a threat to flash/etc... Dev's are too complacent with what we have (me included lol) Also read that while HTML 5 has video's now....it lacks any control to stop people downloading them afterwards
Ya I know that stuff. But when that next decade comes, Flash might have jumped another ten years or Adobe might not even exist.
I've read that Flash Apps can't handle touchscreen very well, yet it looks like HTML5 has the capability to handle it properly.
They are and they wont improve flash until there is pressure from another technology to corner them out of the marketplace.
I dunno, I don't think for Adobe flash is a make or break seller. Their CS suite's do quite nicely. I love flash, but I hate it's inabilities with web 2.0 stuff. Honestly, we use it more for some little "enhancements" here or there, not for entire sites anymore. And lets face it, aside from promotional websites, and sites for graphic studio's...what site is 100% flash based that you use on a daily basis. That being said, http://thefwa.com/ is an awesome site for flash!
Meh, apple is against flash for the simple reason that it would allow people to watch movies & tv (hulu) and play games as good as those on the iphone (newgrounds, etc...) all for free, just imagine the blow to the iTMS The touchscreen deal, thats a matter of design since most devs didnt take in count that in a touchscreen you cant "hover" above a sign, but touching it is akin to clicking on it, thus the problem. I really dont know how much is adobe's fault, and how much is that macromedia couldnt get its shit together. GPU support alone made my flash experience 4X faster, and thats adobe's work.
