It varies, I have seen the same model with and without them. I think it's really when they had the stickes on hand they used them. I Have some models with the PAL painted on as well.
I think that it was a way do tell the region of the console pretty quickly. That's my theory. honestly, i think it has nothing to do with a model
For PSone debugs I use it as a way to know what voltage, anything that says NTSC is 100/110 volt, anything that says PAL is 240. I've dymo'd labels onto all my retails. I would say all PSone debugs had them, but if you don't then it's probably been removed. It does have something to do with the model: xxx0 = NTSC/J xxx1 = NTSC/U xxx2 = PAL Sometime later they started putting NTSC/UC on them ( possibly the canadians got annoyed ). I'm not sure if there were ever any xxx3 debugs, even the retails are pretty scarse in the west so there might have been.
Rumour has it that PSone debugers existed.....you know the little ones.....so it would be good to know what types of stickers they had......
I always wondered why some of the Debuggers have stickers and some didn't. Were they put on the consoles by Sony or the companies that got them?
Does anyone here actually have a PSX debugger with a region sticker which is NOT a DTL-H110X (=blue with external PSU)? I've got about 7 debug PSXs and each one (I've got three) from the DTL-H110X series has a sticker, while others from DTL-H100X and DTL-H120X don't have them. Auction images which I've seen have followed the same pattern. Could be just a coincidence, but maybe not?
I have a DTL-H1202 (green PAL one) and it has no sticker on it. Also, I can't seem to see a mark if there used to be one. The only sticker it has is it's "Square Europe" asset tag number.....hehehe (so cool)......can't believe I blagged it for £50 about 3 years ago!
