    Hi all,
I need some advice on how best to stick back down the labels on some original Game Boy games whose labels have started to peel away at the edges. All of the games that are peeling have a 'glossy finish' label as opposed to the 'matte finish' labels I have also seen used on Game Boy games. Even some copies of the same game (Such as Tetris) seem to use two or more different types of label finish. I'm guessing the gloss coating somehow 'contracts' the top surface over time causing the labels to peel up? (Can any one explain better?)

Anyway, the original glue is no longer sticky enough to keep the label held down, but it hasn't peeled off enough that I could safely remove the entire label to apply glue without causing horrible creases on the front. I just cant think of a good way of sticking them back down

Is there some sort of liquid glue I could apply to a thin piece of plastic and then gently wipe it under the peeling edge to stick it back down? Preferably one that could be easily rubbed off if I accidentally got any on the actual cartridge.

    Any advice appreciated :icon_bigg

I use double sided tape for sticking the top of Mega Drive carts back down. Works like a treat if you use the really thin stuff. It may be a bit fiddly for what you want to do though.

I've always used a light super glue/"crazy glue". Just enough to keep the label down. And very carefully.

There is actually a tape you can use made by M3, it is basically adhesive on a roll but not like normal tape. It turns anything you put onto it into a sticker.

If you google 3M 467MP you'll find the stuff.

Basically you'd have to get the entire sticker off the cart then place it on a piece of the tape then peel it back off & it replaces the back with a new layer of sticky stuff so you basically have a new sticky label.

Useful for loads of stuff but i found it while looking at pinball stuff

Thanks for all the replies everyone :icon_bigg

Unfortunately double sided tape is not really any use for this particular problem as not enough of the label has peeled up to put the tape on, and its not even peeled in a straight line - its sort of wavy if that makes sense.

For the moment I think I have decided to just leave it alone. I was considering trying some PVA glue though, as its usually pretty easy to remove when its dry...
