Anyone ever experienced this? About one in twenty times it will open. I just cannot figure out wtf. (i'm most likely just an idiot)
I think it has to do with the magnet on that keeps the disk in the tray is too strong and keeps the tray up, because the entire tray opening happens when a motor with a rubber belt spins a gear. But the belt just spins because the magnet is too strong. Not sure if this makes sense, but I assume you have a samsung drive?
If it's a Hitachi or Samsung there is a good chance it's just the rubber band that opens and closes it. Hawk
Had this happen on the original Xbox with a Samsung, and it was the belt that had stretched and was slipping. A small amount of silicone round the inside of the two pulley gears sorted it.
