Damn, why are these so hard to find! As usual, ebay only has the cheap knockoffs. I'm looking for a SONY one, willing to pay a good price.

Official PS2/3 SCARTs (if they even exist) are also fine.

    for collecting or gaming purpose?

because the quality of most 3rd party cables is right up there with the sony cables.

gaming. I dunno, all my third party cables thus far didn't compare. I've got a pretty high-end CRT now and I don't want to rape the SCART port with sub-standard connectors... same goes for the other end, the PS connector on some cables just feels like it needs too much force.

Gah, why did my original cable get stolen?

Anyway, if you can recommend me a particular brand, that would be good as well!

is use a bigben rgb cable with gold connectors. cost me 6 euro and i see no difference to the sony one, but my crt is not so high end, maybe that is why, i dunno.

I daresay that only the cheapest and nastiest SCART cables could pose any threat to you TV's connector, and even then that would be through repeated removal and insertion..

My third party RGB SCART cable is just great. Cost me £2.50 from HK and it works perfectly. And my CRT is like, one of the best you can buy.

I have a couple of official boxed Japanese 21 pin RGB leads (SCPH-1050) but they aren't scart, so not much use to you.

However officially they did do a Playstation one scart cable which is the most common (SCPH-1052) and a playstation 2 scart cable (SCPH-10142), which is black instead of grey. There is no official Playstation 3 scart lead.

As a note the Japanese RGB cable would have been SCPH-10120 (not SCPH-10140...) but they never released it, although they do mention it on various DVD playback of the PS2 press releases.

Yeah, I got an offer for the Japanese cable, but I don't want to do any rewiring so they're of no use for me. Thanks for the suggestions Jamtex and Assembler.

I do not have it for sale, but I know a site that sells the first party japanese cable, I ordered one from them myself, and an official Saturn RGB cable and they are both in great condition.

I know you need a SCART configuration and you don't want to rewire the cable, but you don't have to, you could buy the official cable here

    http://gamechoiceclub.com/navigateProduct.asp?product_id=3399

and then get a plug like this

    http://cgi.ebay.com/21-Pin-Scart-Fe...emQQptZLH_DefaultDomain_0?hash=item414c5415a3

you'd have to change the wires in the plug, but the official RGB cable would remain intact.

$79 for a scart, jeeez :noooo:

Anyway I have a bunch of PS1 RGB scart leads from back in the days but as they are loose cables I cannot see if they are original or not..
Does anybody know the difference between the original ones and 3th party? does it say SONY on the connector? any other model numbers to be found somewhere?

I've got this kinda weird SCART cable that has a three-way multi connector on the end, making it compatible with XBox, Playstation, and Gamecube.
The latter of course will also work with N64 and NTSC SNES/ SFC. I think it's made by MadCatz.
